In the Aternos panel, first select the edition and software. Using the same Minecraft version as your friends avoids the most common incompatibility on first connection.
Step by step
-
Create a new server in your Aternos account. Choose Java or Bedrock based on the client your group uses.
-
In the Software tab, select the appropriate version of Vanilla, Paper, or modded software. If there is an existing world, take a backup before changing the software.
-
Press the start button and wait for the status to come online. Send the current address and port, if necessary, on the Connect screen to your friends.
-
Have a player log in from another network and verify the connection. If the main address is not resolved in Java, compare with the current DynIP offered by the panel. For Bedrock, follow the edition-specific connection instructions on the panel.
Keep in mind
The server that appears on the panel in the queue or at the opening may not yet accept entries from the game.
