WorldEdit is used for block editing and region selection, and WorldGuard is used to enforce game rules in regions. The two have separate roles in spawn protection.
Step by step
-
Verify WorldGuard versions with WorldEdit, compatible with Minecraft and Paper. First, install the WorldEdit dependency that WorldGuard requires.
-
In a test world, select two corners of the region with the WorldEdit tool. Name your region in WorldGuard, for example
/rg define spawn. -
Explicitly set the rule you need. For example,
/rg flag spawn block-break denyprevents block breaking. Check the priority of intersecting regions. -
Try breaking blocks inside and outside with a non-OP player. Verify that only the selected region and rules are affected.
Keep in mind
If you select the zone at the wrong height, the player may be out of protection at a higher level in the same coordinates.
