How to install datapack on Minecraft server?

Datapack adds data-driven content to the vanilla world. Place the file in the correct world's datapacks directory and check compatibility with the game version.

Step by step

1. Check the target Minecraft version and build of the pack. The pack.mcmeta file should be located at the root of the package, not under extra nested folders.

2. Back up the world. Put the datapack zip file or folder into the datapacks directory of the target world.

3. Restart the server regularly. Check for active packets in the game with /datapack list and look for incompatible data errors in the log.

4. Validate a recipe or function added by the package in the test world. If there is a problem, first check the version and dependencies of the package.

Keep in mind

Datapack is not a Paper plugin jar and is not installed from the plugins folder.
