How to fix “Connection refused” in Minecraft

If the connection is rejected, the first thing to check is whether the correct service is listening on the destination port. The wrong port, an incomplete server, and a network rule that explicitly rejects it can produce this symptom.

Step by step

  1. If you own a server, look at the boot log. If the server is not turned on due to EULA, Java version, or port conflict, changes to the client will not work.

  2. Match the server-port value in Java and the port you typed when connecting to the server. If there is a proxy, check that the player is using the proxy port.

  3. If you can connect to the local address on the same machine but it is rejected from the outside, check that the redirect target is the current local IP of that machine.

  4. After the fix, first verify the external TCP test, then the Minecraft status query and real player login in order.

Keep in mind

This flow is for TCP connection denial. TCP testing alone is not decisive in Bedrock UDP problems.
