To make the home server accessible from the internet, the modem must route the correct gaming protocol to the server computer. First verify that the server is running on the local network.
Step by step
-
Give DHCP reservation to the server computer from the modem. Thus, the destination IP of the redirect does not change on restart.
-
Turn on port forwarding rule on your modem. Select the TCP port of the server for Java, and select the UDP port used by the server for the classic Bedrock connection. Type the local address of the computer as the internal target.
-
Allow only the required port and protocol in the operating system firewall. If there is a second modem or CGNAT on top, the single modem rule may not be sufficient.
-
Disconnect your phone from home Wi-Fi and try the game address via mobile data. Connecting to public IP from the same network may spoof depending on the modem's NAT loopback behavior.
Keep in mind
Opening RCON and management panel ports to the internet along with the game port.
