How to pre-create a Minecraft world with Chunky?

World pre-generation moves some of the chunk generation load that occurs when players explore to maintenance time. Calculate disk cost from the beginning.

Step by step

  1. Backup the world and install the appropriate Chunky version. Check the free disk for the working area, as the radius increases, the area to be processed increases rapidly.

  2. During maintenance, select the target world with /chunky world world and the sample radius with /chunky radius 2000. Verify that the default center matches your expectation.

  3. Start the process with /chunky start. Monitor progress and disk usage. If resource consumption causes problems while the player is present, use the pause command.

  4. When the job is finished, travel into the generated area and measure the chunk load. Take separate action for Nether and End if necessary.

Keep in mind

It does not automatically manage the pre-production map border and does not repair previously generated broken regions.
